Model keys & knowledge base
1. Configure model keys
The built-in AI needs a working model key:
- Open Me → Settings → AI assistant.
- Find Model key configuration.
- Click Add model key.
- Choose the provider, enter the API key and click Save.
The list shows:
- Configured: a key is stored for the current account.
- Server: the key comes from a server environment variable.
- Custom: a key you added.
External AI models run through the local connector and use the local CLI login state; they do not use keys configured here.
2. Check usage
Under Settings → AI assistant → Usage you can see:
- Used / total quota
- Remaining quota
- Billing period and reset time
Click View history for per-call billing details; an empty list means there have been no calls in the current period.
3. Knowledge base
Knowledge bases provide long-term memory and semantic retrieval for AI.
Create a knowledge base
In an AI conversation’s knowledge base panel, click Create and fill in:
- Name
- Description (optional)
Add entries
Open the knowledge base and click Add to:
- Enter a title and content manually; or
- Upload Markdown and other files.
Saved entries become searchable by AI when answering.
Attach to a conversation
- Open Knowledge base in a specific AI conversation and select the knowledge bases to attach.
- Under Settings → AI assistant → Global default knowledge bases, choose the default knowledge bases for AI conversations that do not specify their own.
Delete
- Delete a single entry from the entry actions.
- Deleting an entire knowledge base also deletes all its entries and cannot be undone.
Document retrieval is still being improved. If some documents do not appear in results, add the key facts as entries first.
